Did not get to go to the Medina Kettlebell Class. That will have to happen another time.

It’s a beautiful Ohio Summer Day.

This is the second week in a row that Dave has increased different things. This week in the first introduction of the 32KG into my routine. I think that I have finally figured out, at least in part, Dave’s master plan. Slow and steady increase in weight and reps. I remember when the 16KG was heavy, so I guess it is working.

All I need to do now is figure how to fit in running, Tuesday night KB Class and start swimming.

Ran into Burt and he was going swiming and mentioned that he had been a swiming coach for many years. Did some more talking and he agreed to help me with my swimming technique, or lack of. I am looking forward to that.

Going to try the new KB class in Media tomorrow morning.

Feeling good today, no problems as a result of the Colonoscopy yesterday. Morning workout went well. This is an easy workout, accounting for my Kettlebell class tonight.

Circuit – Repeat for 5 total sets with 1 minute rest between sets
Kettlebell Lateral Lunge
24 kg – 8 reps each leg
Rope Biceps Curls
100 lbs. – 15 reps
Rope Triceps Pushdowns
100 lbs. –15 reps

Used the 5K podcast, Week 2 for my 30 minutes cardio on the treadmill. I find this gets my heartrate up into the 130-150 range much better than other cardio machines I have used.

One of the things I noticed yesterday when getting prepared for the Colonoscopy was a resting heartrate of 55. It stayed at 55 until the nurse starting asking me all kinds of questions and it raised to 65. I was really impressed with such a low resting heart rate. BP was 125 over 80.

Had a great Kettlebell class. Did not do quite as well with my escalating density routine. I think I am still just a bit out of it from the procedure yesterday. This was our last class with Jim. In talking with Jim the group decided that we would meet on Tuesday evenings at the park and have a class. I hope this happens and I think it will be a great time. I am still going Saturday morning to check out the class in Medina. Life continues to suprise me with how things work out. I did not keep a records of everything we did in class tonight.

Jim did complete his certification at Kettlebell Concepts in NY over the weekend.

Got up at 3AM to drink two more 8oz glasses of the liquid laxative. Took my daily picture and started working on this entry. No way I will get back to sleep. Need to be at the Doctor office at 6:30AM. Feeling very weak and upset to my stomach. I am ready for this to be over.

The colonoscopy is over. Nothing of interest found during the exam. I was awake for the procedure and was able to watch in on the TV and can actually remember (or at least believe I can remember) the entire process. I was in and out in an hour. I do have some cramping now due to the air that is pumped into the colon as part of the procedure. Over all, it was a postive experience for me and I feel good knowing there is nothing to be concerned about. Just going to take it easy for the rest of the day and start getting some food back into me.

It’s 8PM and I am feeling much better, just tired so I will be turning in early and be getting back on my schedule tomorrow.

Completed workout this morning. I always enjoy this Tuesday workout. It was hard but I completed without any problems. Trying not to think about not eating until tomorrow. Taking my first laxative pills at 12 noon.

Tuesday
Circuit – Repeat for 5 total sets with 1:20 minute rest between sets
Dumbbell Push Press – 45 lb Dumbbells – 12 reps
Functional Trainer Squats on Bench with 4 risers on each side
75 lbs – 20 reps
Functional Trainer Rows
(A, C, E, G, H) 50 lbs. – 12 reps
change lettered setting after each set

I have been following the steps to get prepared for the Colonoscopy tomorrow morning. Right now I have to be prepared at any second to run to the bathroom at any moment.

I took laxative pills at noon, 3PM and then started the liquid laxative at 6pm, drinking 8 oz. every 20 minutes for 6 8 oz glasses. Have to get up at 3AM to take to more 8 oz glasses. I am really hungry and anxious to get this over with. I do not feel well at all. I did not really think I would feel this bad getting ready for the procedure.

It’s about 11PM now so I am off to bed until 3AM. I am not expecting a restful night.

I knew that if I just stayed with the program I would get the results. This morning I had a solid 230 on the scales. It just don’t get better than this. That is 20 pounds in 36 days, 0.55 pound per day.

Monday
Circuit – Repeat for 5 total sets with 2:30 minute rest between sets
Kettlebell Turkish Get-Up
6 kg – 10 each side
Kettlebell Snatch
20 kg – 20 each

Did my exhausing Monday workout. My total workout was just a bit over 1 1/2 hours today. Had to take a couple of breaks and move kind of slow a couple of times but completed my 100 Turkish Get Ups and 200 snatches (20KG). I always feel good when I push through the Monday workout because of the feeling of accomplishment I get. After doing the workout and then getting on the scale to see a drop, I am feeling really good.

A bit sore from yesterdays workout with the Couch to 5K podcast. You can find these podcasts at Podcasts for Running. I will be doing another one of those tomorrow evening.

Found this example of a windmill without an overhead weight. Placing it here so I will remember to try it myself. I have given up on windmills with overhead weight. I have found that it will tear my back up in nothing flat.

I found this at icechamber.com

I have been really on edge today thinking about the colonsocopy. Not so much the actual procedure but making it from tonight until Wednesday morning with nothing to eat. I know I have to do it but it just makes me hungry to have someone say I can’t eat anything. Well, I take that back, I can eat a popsicle. Although I had a really hard workout this morning I really should have gone to the gym tonight but I am kind of shutting down for the night. I will be back in the gym in the morning. I always like my Tuesday workout so that will help me through tomorrow.

During the night I awoke several times with a headache. I just ignore it. This morning I still have it. I just took it as I am writing this so I hope it kicks in soon. A beautiful cool, sunny morning. Today will be yard work and hopefully a visit to the gym for as least some cardio. It’s about time for me to do another 100 snatches (under 4 minutes). Last time I tried it took about 4 minutes, 15 seconds so I need to tighten up the time.

Did all my yard work and made it to the gym for an hour cardio. I have found a set of podcasts based upon the Couch to 5K program at coolrunning.com. The podcasts take you through the various intervals and have great music. I did one of the podcasts this afternoon and it really helped me with my treadmill workout. You can find these podcasts at Podcasts for Running.

Tomorrow morning is my big workout with 100 Turkish Get Up’s and 200 snatches.

Picked up Miralax and Dulcolax tablets at the drug store. I will be using these for my “clean out” prior to my Colonoscopy on Wednesday. Hopefully a by product of this will be droping a pound or two. I will not be doing a workout on Wednesday and probably will skip Thursday morning so that I can do my Thursday night kettlebell class. At least that is my plan for now.

Starting tomorrow I am to AVOID roughage (nuts, fruits and vegetables including corn, popcorn and cucumbers). Tonight I am stoping my usual dose of Metamucil until after the procedure.

Went to the gym for a good hour cardio session.

Fight Gone Bad 5
What is a baby boomer?
People born between (and including) 1946 and 1964. After American soldiers returned home from World War II in1946, the United States experienced an explosion of births (hence the name baby boom) that continued for the next 18 years, when the birth rate began to drop. In 1964, baby boomers represented 40% of the population, which means that more than one third of the population was under 19 years of age. In the 1990s, approximately 76 million people in the United States were born in the baby boom years, representing approximately 29% of the country's population. Since baby boomers make up such a sizable portion of the consuming public, their spending habits and lifestyles have a powerful influence on the economy.
