I went for a week without getting weighed and this morning was at 222. That means I dropped 5 pounds. Still thinking about what could have happened to finally cause the loss. Was I keeping myself at the same weight by getting weighed everyday? Not sure of the answer yet.

Had a good workout, moved up to 50 lbs dumbbells for my push presses and completed 6 without problem.

Circuit – Repeat for 5 total sets with 1:20 minute rest between sets
Dumbbell Push Press – 50 lb Dumbbells – 4 to 6 reps…increased weight
Functional Trainer Squats on Bench with 4 risers on each side
75 lbs – 20 reps
Functional Trainer Rows
(A, C, E, G, I) 50 lbs. – 12 reps
change lettered setting after each set

Dave came to the gym this morning during my workout. It was great to see him again and catch up. I really felt energized after his visit. I was really glad I had been working so hard the last eight months. I also realised that looking around at the other people at the gym I really had changed. Some have been working as long as I have and I don’t really see any improvement. Made me feel good to reflect on all I have accomplished. Dave showed me several new exercises that we will start working into my daily workout.

A funny thing did happen during Dave’s visit to the gym. One of the more senior ladies that probably weights 98 pounds sopping wet and is maybe five feet tall walked up to Dave and started talking. Now remember, Dave has not been in the facility for 8 months, since he moved out of state. She walked up to him and I expected her to say how nice it was to see him again, how have you been and so on. Nope, she wanted to let him know that there was a strong urine smell in the ladies locker room and he needed to do something about it. He started to explain that he did not work there anymore, but it was clear that the best thing to do was say that he would have someone look at it. She never missed a beat and went back to her workout. Priceless.

Was not able to get a good timing of my workout this morning. I stopped when Dave got there and picked back up when he left. I did complete everything.

Monday

Tomorrow will be starting with the heavier 50 lbs dumbbells for push press.

Good workout this morning. The Clean, Squat and press really push me, but I feel accomplished when completed.

48 hours without getting weighed. Only have to make it to Tuesday morning.

Just heard from my remote trainer that he will be in town and is going to join visit me during my workout on Monday morning. Dave was my personal trainer until January when he moved out of state and we switched to a remote trainer setup. I am really glad that I really have been working hard. It would really be crap to have him see me if I had not made progress.
Something good to look forward to.

Have made it for 48 hours so far without getting weighed. Trying to determine if weighing everyday has been a help or not.

Workout went well. Intensity about 7. I was feeling good so did an extra set.

Today’s workout with increased weight for swings went well. Now at 28KG for swings. Figure 8′s ok, just needed to stop a couple of times for a back stretch.

Completed workout without problem although the Dumbell pushes do not seem to be getting easier. By now I think I should be able to do them with much less effort, but that is not the case. New core exercise using stability ball doing planks is causing some issue. I have modified that so I am just doing pushups on the stability ball. I think I need to do this for awhile before doing the actual up,up,down,down function of the exercise.

The scales continue to play with me. Back down to 228 this morning.

Planning on an outside Kettlebell class this evening, as long as the rain stays away.

Well, the rains came, and washed away the outdoor Kettlebell class. We will try again next week. I thought about going to the gym instead but did some errands and picked up some things I needed from OfficeMax. I actually feel guilty missing one evening of going to the gym. I already did a full workout today. I feel like I need the break. I may be pushing it too hard right now.

Entered a challenge with a youtube friend to NOT check the scale until next Tuesday morning. Maybe that will help me over this point between 227 and 230. Up and down, but never below 227. It’s going to be hard not to weigh myself. I always get weighed once I dry off from my shower at the gym. I have to walk right past the scales to get to my locker. Maybe I will make myself a sign to carry with myself saying “No Scales” so I don’t get on by mistake. I really want to get below 225. I don’t mind holding that for awhile but I have to get there by August 18th.

I was talking to Evelyn at the gym front desk. She had been in the Kettlebell classes. I asked if they ever found another Kettlebell instructor. She said no, but that she had said I should teach the class. That made me feel good. I almost wish I had enough background that I could teach the classes.

My workout for tomorrow has me moving up to the 28KG for 10 swings. Anxious to see how that goes.

Back up to 230. I am just eating too much. I have to do something to make a breakthrough.

Brutal workout this morning. I had hoped that I would shave a couple more minutes off this Monday workout but ended up adding a couple. This time it was 40 minutes and I busted my ass to get that. Something was just a bit off this morning that did not allow me to push through to make an improvement. I am not disapointed because I really worked hard, I just wish I could have shaved a couple of minutes off, not added them.

What is a baby boomer?
