Last night was not a good night for sleep. Woke up with back pain, took some meds that did not seem to have any impact. Up at 3A. Did some cleaning in the kitchen (Debbie is coming home today) and laundry.
At the gym about 5:30A.
Really struggled with my workout this morning. The swings and figure 8′s were really hurting my back and I did not have a lot of energy. A month ago this was my favorite workout and now I can hardly get it done. I did wear my heartrate monitor. Only got up to a high of 148 during the swings.
Tuesday
Core Circuit – same as workout 1
Circuit – Repeat for 7 total sets
1-Hand Kettlebell Swings 32kg – 23 reps each
Kettlebell Figure 8’s 28kg – 15 each
Set 1 rest 2 minutes and 1 minute between figure 8′s
Set 2 rest 2 minutes and 1 minute between figure 8′s
Set 3 rest 3 minutes and 90 seconds between figure 8′s
Set 4 rest 3 minutes and 90 seconds between fignure 8′s
Not please at all with the amount of rest I took but I have to have that rest for my back to recover. I am going to ask Dave about a weight belt. Maybe that is something that will help. Once I am done with the workout my back is fine but during the figure 8′s it is screaming.
As usual I did my core workout. Did my shoulder flyes (15 lbs) after my circuit. Also did my elbow pulls and face pulls and a 20 minute cardio.
I check with the gym about signups for the new Sunday afternoon strength/weight class starting this Sunday. I am the only one signed up so it is not looking very good. We need a miminum of 8 participants.
Just got back from my Kettlebell class and my ass is whipped. I know I am going to be hurting in the morning. I really worked hard. There were three other guys in the class so it’s almost like a private training session. Jim really pays attention to each individual.
I did not do as good as I thought I would. Perhaps I had forgotten how hard Jim’s classes are.
It’s important to be doing different things. Our bodies get use to certain things. Having this class is a great way to shake things up.
