Had a good night of sleep but up several times for the bathroom. My refill of Flomax is on the way and I will be increasing my dose. You know you are getting old when all you want is a night where you don’t have to get up to pee.

At the gym at 5:30A. I was trying to have a positive attitude. I got all ready to start my workout and suddenly changed to do the workout that was scheduled for tomorrow. This is the workout I did not even complete last week.

WORKOUT 4
Core Circuit – same as workout 1
Circuit – Repeat for 6 total sets with 1:20 minute rest between sets
Bulgarian Split Squat (rear foot up on bench) 32kg – 12 reps each leg
Functional Trainer Squat to Row (Set at bottom position)
60 lbs – 12 reps (Went down to 40 lbs after 4th set)
Did shoulder flyes, elbow exercises, face pulls and stretching.

I did make it through the workout however after the 4th set I went down to 40 lbs on the functional trainer. The 60 pounds was just too much. I was taking far to long to recover and I was having zero fun. I did a bit better with the 40 lbs. At least I was able to stick closer to the 1:20 minutes between sets. This cause me to do some thinking.

I use to be able to do this workout. Why is it so hard now?

  • Am I losing strength?
  • Am I losing motivation?
  • Am I losing the desire to push myself harder?
  • Am I too tired after 3 days of heavy workouts?
  • I will talk to Dave about this over the weekend.

I have had three good days of eating. Went off plan this morning.

Planning on trying the free Saturday class at Crossfit Legacy, a new Crossfit gym that has opened. It’s only 5 miles from home. I need something new, something to mix things up.

    Crossift Legacy

Taken from the Crossfit Legacy website:

WORLD CLASS FITNESS IN 100 WORDS:

Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and NO sugar.

Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat.

Practice and train major lifts: deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics:pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstands, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast.

Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow.

    ROUTINE IS THE ENEMY.

    Keep workouts short and intense.

Regularly learn and play new sports!

    1. Sheree says:

Hey!!! Speak for yourself! I can go the entire night without waking up or having to go PEE!!! LOL LOL LOL

    2. Terry says:

You are right Sheree. I should have specified “old man”. I hear the ladies don’t have that problem, but a lot of them pee when they laugh. Maybe that’s why some women don’t laugh much.

My Grandpa use to say that he was grateful that at least he could wake up before he had to go pee.

I know that might not help much.
