At Crossfit Legacy at 6AM for my early bird beating.

Some of you might understand my thrill when I saw that the skill we would be working on today was “Windmills”. Needless to say I took it really easy on the windmills. I think I got through them OK but the real test will be tomorrow morning. Of course, with the number of squats we did I will not have any feeling left in my hips by morning so perhaps it really makes no difference.

The WOD (Workout of the Day) consisted of

5 Burpees
10 Deadlifts (offset weight, 25lbs and 35lbs)
15 Over Head Squats with PVC pipe
20 Swings (35lbs)

16:00 Minutes, do as many sets as you can.

I got 4 done. Most of the class got 5.

  • Terry,
You mentioned those PVC overhead squats.
I was looking at the Crossfit blog and noticed those squats with PVC. Is that just a plain PVC pipe or does it have something inside to make it heavier? I am going to get me a length of PVC and try some of the OHS. They look like torture, but I bet they do wonders.

  • Terry:

    Just plain PVC.

I have seen where people will put water or sand in the pipe and then cap them off but we are just using plain ones.

The squats really get my hips.

What is a baby boomer?
People born between (and including) 1946 and 1964. After American soldiers returned home from World War II in1946, the United States experienced an explosion of births (hence the name baby boom) that continued for the next 18 years, when the birth rate began to drop. In 1964, baby boomers represented 40% of the population, which means that more than one third of the population was under 19 years of age. In the 1990s, approximately 76 million people in the United States were born in the baby boom years, representing approximately 29% of the country's population. Since baby boomers make up such a sizable portion of the consuming public, their spending habits and lifestyles have a powerful influence on the economy.
