At Crossfit for 6AM class. Eric and Tom with Brian coaching.

Worked on ring dips as our skill. I always hate to say that I can’t do something but sometimes you have to consider the amount of effort and time that is required to accomplish something and put that in perspective. With my weakened posterior shoulder capsule on the right side, trying to do ring dips or even the thought of a muscle up may just be out of reach for me. It’s fun to play at it with bands for assistance but authentic ring dips and muscle ups are just not on my list of lifetime goals. Eric continues to get better and better each time and I am sure a muscle up is in his future.

Brian had an interesting WOD for us this morning, kind of a Crossfit Breakfast Buffet of activites. It was so complex that I don’t even know how to break it down so that it makes any sense so I can just direct you to the whiteboard at the start of the posting if you want details. I liked it because most of it included just 15 reps of different movements. I can usually do 15 of almost anything.

The workout included rowing, KB swings, DB Thrusters, Sit Ups, Box Jumps or steps, Squats, Push Ups and Burpees. Tom and Eric both had to leave for work as soon as they were done so I ended up finishing up alone. I went over 25 minutes. Slow and steady does not necessarily win the race, but it does get you to the finish line.

Have not heard from Ron on his weigh in. Ron….are you out there?

What hurts today?Feeling good except for the continuing ache in left arm from bicep to forearm on inside of arm. Not affecting the elbow joint. The work on the ring dips really hurt my right shoulder but only as I did the movement.

  1. hope you feel better soon. My hubby may have a slightly sepperated shoulder from recreation hockey. so he can feel your pain. angie
