CrossFit at 6AM. Eric, Stacia, Steve and Noreen with Brian coaching.
Brian already had the WOD written on the board when I got there this morning. Push Press and 400M runs. Brian suggested I use the rower if I did not feel up to the running but after my experience on Saturday I had determined that I would not avoid running anymore. Also, Brian had the following on the board.
Your greatest weakness is hindering performance far more than your greatest strength is helping. TRAIN YOUR WEAKNESS
Since running is a really big weakness for me that made it even more important that I run this morning.
This WOD is a perfect example of the battle between my strength and weakness. I pumped out each set of the push press at the Rx weight with no problem and was first out the door for the first 400M run. That lead did not last long as everyone else passed me up and were done with their run way before me.
That process repeated itself over and over for the WOD. I would start my push press after someone else, be finished and out the door before they were done and they would still pass me up on the run. The only real comfort I can take is that perhaps for some of my classmates the push press was their weakness and was as hard for them to accomplish as the running was for me. That means we were all working on our own weakness.
Brian and Steve ran me in (OK, fast walk) on the last leg of the last 400M. Thanks guys for not leaving me behind and letting the dinosaurs have me on their Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuits this morning.

Charlie came in around 7AM for his last WOD before the games this weekend. I had heard a rumor that he had “shaved” but I was not sure what was shaved, his face or head. Well, it’s his head. He is smooth and made for speed now. We will see if the face hair comes off before the games. Stay strong Charlie!
Jerry is going to run our classes for Thursday, Friday and Monday while Brian is gone to CA. Many of our current members have not experienced an entire class under the control of the Jerry. I have lived through a couple. It’s probably better if I just don’t say anything….just be prepared to face your fear. He speaks softly (sometimes) but carries a big stick.

Eating—Could be better.
What hurts today—I probably will not be walking tomorrow after the running today. Still the issue with my heels. We will see if the running helps, hurts or has no impact. Just a bit of an ache in the left shoulder even after all the push press work this morning.
