CrossFit with Stacia, Steve, Carl, Ralph and Tom (arriving on Tom Time) with Brian coaching.

I don’t know what Brian’s Master Plan is for this week, I am just hoping to survive it. After yesterday’s WOD which I thought incorporated everything I can’t do he came up with another one that worked my remaining weaknesses.

Overhead Squats are a real challenge for me. Brian modified and I went heavier weight and did front squats. That allowed me to get a little better depth in my squat but they still suck.

I really struggled with the band assisted pull ups. My arms were screaming. There is also another force at work and that is dealing with the bands when you are not actually in the process of the pull up. Trying to rest for a few seconds against the force of the bands trying to fold you up into an accordion is a real effort.

I survived, as did everyone else. Although I did not come away from the WOD with a real feeling of success I know I worked on my weakness. That’s all I can ask for.

It was fun having Carl in class this morning. One of my favorite things to do is annoy and torment him but when it came down to working hard for the WOD he did great.

Eating—On track although I am getting a bit board. I found that I was having trouble coming with things to purchase at the grocery store last night. I ended up getting the ingredients for a salad to have today. I need to find a couple recipes today to get something new going.

What hurts today—I was in agony most of the day yesterday. By this morning I was OK except for the right back heel. The left has cleared up but the right is still very bothersome. I know it will clear up but it will clear up on its own time table, not mine.

What is a baby boomer?
People born between (and including) 1946 and 1964. After American soldiers returned home from World War II in1946, the United States experienced an explosion of births (hence the name baby boom) that continued for the next 18 years, when the birth rate began to drop. In 1964, baby boomers represented 40% of the population, which means that more than one third of the population was under 19 years of age. In the 1990s, approximately 76 million people in the United States were born in the baby boom years, representing approximately 29% of the country's population. Since baby boomers make up such a sizable portion of the consuming public, their spending habits and lifestyles have a powerful influence on the economy.
