What is a baby boomer?

People born between (and including) 1946 and 1964. After American soldiers returned home from World War II in1946, the United States experienced an explosion of births (hence the name baby boom) that continued for the next 18 years, when the birth rate began to drop. In 1964, baby boomers represented 40% of the population, which means that more than one third of the population was under 19 years of age. In the 1990s, approximately 76 million people in the United States were born in the baby boom years, representing approximately 29% of the country's population. Since baby boomers make up such a sizable portion of the consuming public, their spending habits and lifestyles have a powerful influence on the economy.

Had a great first WOD in the new box.

My power cleans were solid at the Rx’d weight of 135lbs. I was able to hit the target for the wall balls. My squats for the wall balls were not as deep as I would like but as deep as I could get. My sit ups were slow as usual and I did singles instead of double unders. Overall, a great WOD.

Everyone was excited about the new box this morning. Still figuring out the best place to park, best route to take to the box, best place to stow your gear and claiming your territory on the floor. It will take awhile for everything to fall into its natural place. I had a corner spot this morning that was right by a piece of whiteboard so I could mark my rounds. I know that Brian would like us to be able to remember our rounds but at least for me once I get past one I have no idea what I have done if I don’t have it marked down.

The pull up rig is not in place yet which is a real plus for those of us that are pull up challenged. Hopefully this little break will help out my right elbow.

Eating—Back on track and looking forward to a good week. My six month Doc checkup is Friday so would really like to drop a few pounds by then.

What hurts today—Overall feeling good. Had several headaches the last few days but I think that is do to far to much sugar. Right elbow still hurts along with right heel.

Yesterday (Sunday 11-1-09) we had to call the police again to help us get into Debbie’s sisters house when she did not answer our phone calls. The police were able to get in without breaking any doors this time which was a plus. We did not know what to expect when we got in but she was conscious. She had ended up on the floor to far away from the phone to answer or make a call from it. Debbie had left there late Friday so we don’t really know how long she had been on the floor. She was not able to answer our questions.

EMS was called and she was taken to the hospital. Very high sugar, very low blood pressure and not able to answer simple questions correctly. From ER she was placed in ICU. Her situation is much more serious that is was several weeks ago when she was in the hospital.

Unsure what the future holds at this point. The short term situation is very critical and we still don’t know how we are going to resolve her long term issues. One day at a time, one rep at a time.

Another example of what NOT TO DO
Looks like he might have slammed the bar into his chin as he started his jerk movement.
