What is a baby boomer?

People born between (and including) 1946 and 1964. After American soldiers returned home from World War II in1946, the United States experienced an explosion of births (hence the name baby boom) that continued for the next 18 years, when the birth rate began to drop. In 1964, baby boomers represented 40% of the population, which means that more than one third of the population was under 19 years of age. In the 1990s, approximately 76 million people in the United States were born in the baby boom years, representing approximately 29% of the country's population. Since baby boomers make up such a sizable portion of the consuming public, their spending habits and lifestyles have a powerful influence on the economy.

This WOD is a real challenge. No one used the Rx’d weight.

Determining what weight to use was a problem for me this morning. Although I can deadlift really heavy I had to make sure that I could clean and get the same weight overhead since I had to use the same bar for the entire WOD. Last time I started out at 115 and dropped to 65.

The pain level was really high this morning and my preference would have been to simply walk out the door and forget the entire thing. I kind of got forced into 75lbs because I did not move quick enough to grab two of the 10lb bumpers. I had to go with 15 lb bumpers giving me a total of 75lbs. I still have enough manly pride left that I have to go at least as much as the girls. Because of that going with just the 45lb bar was not a possibility.

My frustration level is really high because I remember that day last week when I felt so good, like I could do anything. Today I am back to struggling with very simple movements.

Eating—Even with best of intentions this continues to be a challenge. I think that I comfort myself for the pain I am in with food which probably contributes to the pain I am in that makes me eat more. Do you see a circle here?

What hurts today—Not a good day. The heel pain is back full force and my right hip is screwed along with my back in general. Very frustrating. I hate walking around like a little old man.

When I watch this my back does not hurt…..at least while I am laughing. His groans sound a lot like mine.
