Got 16 burpees in first thing. Slow going but I got them done. Participation in the 100 days of burpees seems to be falling off.

The skill work sucked today. A collection of all my weaknesses. Bottom line is I just can’t support my body weight for long. I need to get stronger or lose pounds. I thought about how these moves translate into functional movement and the best example I came up with was falling and breaking my leg. Even though I can’t hold myself up for long on an L Sit or ring hold I would be able to use my arms to move myself around if I was on the ground with a broken leg.

Also not a fan of pull ups. Will made me commit to doing at least up to seven reps without the band and I made it to 10. My strength turned off once we got to round 11.

Will only made it to 16 reps because his hands are torn up. That led to a discussion about hand care and the best way to get them to heal. Do you take it easy for a few days to let them heal or just ignore it and continue to rip the skin off? Is having ripped up hands and having to miss training worth it?

I am a big believer in never getting to the point where I never have to even think about this question and I intend to keep it that way.

Joe kept going like a mutant this morning on the pull ups, going for 18.

Eating—Trying hard to get back on track. I got a massive headache yesterday afternoon and I am 100% sure it was related to diet.

What hurts today—Overall feeling better. Still stiff as a board but overall pain level down. Had a massive headache yesterday afternoon.

One year ago—14 degrees one year ago today. This was also the day I found my Volar Wrist Ganglion.

As we were standing around talking after class the issue of a class environment vs WOD’s on your own came up. One of the most important things about CrossFit Legacy for me is that we do everything together as a class. I have to have that class environment and push to keep me going. I would not be happy just doing a WOD on my own. The truth is I simply would not do it. I am hard pressed to pick my nose for time on my own.

When I checked the Crossfit.com site I saw that the discussion of the day on the affiliate blog is about the same subject.

Check out what others are saying. Open Gym: Is there merit to letting folks WOD whenever they want at your box? Or is the class system the best way to run a CrossFit affiliate?

First coat of paint is up on the wall logo at the box.
