I knew that whatever we did this morning was going to be tough because my right hip was way out of wack. The combination of 200 jump ropes and 25 OH Lunges proved me to be correct.

I tried with the 45LB plate for the OH Lunges but had to back down to 10LBs during the first round. For the second and following rounds I used a 25lb plate. Regardless of the weight, my hip was having nothing to do with lunges this morning.

Close to the end of the third round Brian came by and took Wayne, Dave and myself down to 5 rounds rather than the original 7. Having Brian do that is like having the most wonderful thing and the worse thing happen at the exact same moment.

I would have kept going until the bitter end or until 911 was called, which ever came first but I estimate it would have taken me at least 45 to 50 minutes to actually complete the entire 7 rounds.

I started boxing and self defense yesterday afternoon with a 2 hour class. That might have had a little to do with my hip hurting this morning, along with the Lumberjack 20 from Saturday.

I think I will be doing the boxing and self defense 2 hours on Sunday, 1 1/2 on Tuesdays and 1 hour on Thursdays. We will see once I get the chance to check out the Tuesday and Thursday classes.

I was surprised how quickly I started to enjoy hitting people.

Worked on what to do if someone comes at you with a knife and what to do if someone grabs you from the front.

Did not experience too much damage other than a sore hip. Brian noticed that the outside of my left forearm had two big bruises. No bruising on my right arm for some unexplained reason.

My purpose in doing this is two fold. Have more hours of movement each week and to be one of those 70 or 80 year olds guys that kicks the crap out of some punk that tries to mess with them.

Eating—You have to or you will die.

What hurts today—Right hip was a mess this morning but the more I do the better it gets.

I picked up a Ninja Master Prep yesterday at Bed, Bath and Beyond. Used it for some onions and tried the ice routine and it does turn in into snow. Looking for some good smoothie recipes to try with it.

What is a baby boomer?
People born between (and including) 1946 and 1964. After American soldiers returned home from World War II in1946, the United States experienced an explosion of births (hence the name baby boom) that continued for the next 18 years, when the birth rate began to drop. In 1964, baby boomers represented 40% of the population, which means that more than one third of the population was under 19 years of age. In the 1990s, approximately 76 million people in the United States were born in the baby boom years, representing approximately 29% of the country's population. Since baby boomers make up such a sizable portion of the consuming public, their spending habits and lifestyles have a powerful influence on the economy.
