CrossFit at 6AM. We lucked out and did not get any snow overnight. Windy and cold.

It was bound to happen. I spent so much time talking after class that I forgot to take a picture of the whiteboard so I have to depend upon my memory. That is a scary feeling. Hopefully I will be able to grab a picture in the morning. Usually everything is still on the board the next morning.

I got in my 32 burpees for 100 days of burpees.

We started off with shoulder press 2X2X2X2X2 and I got 135 lbs. My form was solid and I felt good about the lifts.

After the shoulder press we did a metcom:
20 KB Swings
15 Pistols (15 total)
20 V-Ups
4 Rounds

I moved up to the 45lb KB for my swings. The Pistols were a total fail. I can almost do a beginner pistol standing on my left leg and clinging onto a pole. Doing a pistol standing on my right leg is impossible. V-Ups were OK.

So far this week I have had two Adult Self Defense Training classes. Tonight I am trying out the “Warrior Training” class that is based on the modern needs of a man and the skills to be the protector and defender of his household. This class is heavily based on Southern Shaolin Kung Fu, Wing Chun with some Israeli Special Forces Action to deal with “Special” modern situations.

I know I am going to keep taking the Self Defense Training classes and will decide about Warrior Training after the class this evening.

Here are some clips from previous classes. Should be fun.

Eating—Just like Tiger, not much to say right now.

What hurts today—Feeling a little be better than yesterday. Maybe this current episode with the hip is fading away.

One Year Ago—It was just me on Thursday one year ago. Brian did the WOD with me an Jerry coached.

Added 12-11-2009 I was able to grab a picture of the whiteboard.

  • Joe:

that video is great. and if Will hadn’t distracted you about pull-ups, you’d have gotten the picture. from the moment he mentioned them, I’m sure your mind went into a mini-tailspin…

  • I hope we are not doing any of that stuff tonight.

What is a baby boomer?
People born between (and including) 1946 and 1964. After American soldiers returned home from World War II in1946, the United States experienced an explosion of births (hence the name baby boom) that continued for the next 18 years, when the birth rate began to drop. In 1964, baby boomers represented 40% of the population, which means that more than one third of the population was under 19 years of age. In the 1990s, approximately 76 million people in the United States were born in the baby boom years, representing approximately 29% of the country's population. Since baby boomers make up such a sizable portion of the consuming public, their spending habits and lifestyles have a powerful influence on the economy.
