CrossFit at 6 AM. Weather is starting to warm. We are now in Daylight Savings Time.
The WOD consisted of Thrusters and Burpees. A workout made for me.
I went with just the bar for the burpees. This allows me to move faster and actually get somewhat of a squat. The burpees were slow as usual. I passed on wearing my vest at Brian’s suggestion
I started back up on my 5/3/1 lifting program. I will be doing that on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I did really well with the shoulder press and after the 531 program I did 5 sets of 10 shoulder presses and 5 sets of 10 pull ups. Wednesday will be deadlifts.
We had a great time yesterday morning for our long Sunday morning run at the Tallmadge Rec Center. With any luck this was our last indoor run of the winter and we will be outside next week. It will all depend on the weather. My plan is that our first outdoor run, whenever it occurs, will be at Brust Park in Munroe Falls. That is where our very first club run was back in July of last year.
We also had 5 new people running with us. Eric M , Kelly and Connor along with Dana and Mike. Eric P and Will were there as usual.
I have to say that all my months of running during the winter paid off when I was able to lap Eric M over and over and over. This time last year I would not have been able to even keep up with him. Sorry Eric, I have to take my kicks where I can.
We will see how long Eric puts up with this.
It does go to prove my theory of being consistent and persistent to obtain results.
